Precautions for the use of hooks

1. The scrapping of the hook

When one of the following situations occurs, the hook should be scrapped:

1. Crack;

2. The wear of the dangerous section reaches 10% of the original size;

3. The opening is increased by 15% compared with the original size;

4. The torsional deformation exceeds 10°;

5. The dangerous section or the neck of the hook produces plastic deformation;

6. When the wear of the hook bushing reaches 50% of the original size, the bushing should be scrapped;

7. When the wear of the hook mandrel reaches 50% of the original size, the mandrel should be scrapped.

2. Safety inspection of hooks

1. The hook for the human-driven hoisting mechanism shall be tested with 1.5 times the rated load as the inspection load.

2. The hook for the power-driven hoisting mechanism shall be tested with twice the rated load as the inspection load.

3. After the hook is removed from the inspection load, there should not be any obvious defects and deformation, and the increase of the opening should not exceed 0.25% of the original size.

4. The hooks that pass the inspection should be marked with the low-stress area of the hook, including the rated lifting weight, factory standard or factory name, inspection mark, production number, etc.
